Realme is steadily increasing its presence in the affordable Indian market segment with back to back launches. Just weeks ago, the company launched Realme 2 Pro, the company’s contender in the highly competitive budget segment. Along with that, Realme made a surprise ingress with Realme C1 into the entry-level segment which is not tapped into by any major brands other than Xiaomi and Asus.
Today, Realme has launched yet another phone, the Realme U1, that bridges the price gap between the Realme C1 and Realme 2 Pro.
This new smartphone belongs to the ‘Selfie-centric’ U-series and is the first phone to employ MediaTek’s Helio P70 mobile platform.

Realme U1 Features
Realme U1 features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ LCD IPS display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The display panel is covered by 2.5D glass with Gorilla Glass 3 certification. Realme has imparted a waterdrop notch design to this new phone. Realme U1 is powered by the latest Helio P70 Octa-core chipset that is clocked up to 2.1 GHz. The processor is bundled with an ARM G72 GPU. It comes with a RAM of either 3GB/4GB. The 3GB variant boasts an internal storage of 32GB while the 4GB variant packs 64GB storage capacity. The internal storage can be expanded up to 256GB with an external MicroSD card.
This phone includes a dual camera setup on the rear comprising of a 13MP (f/2.2 aperture) primary lens and a 2MP (f/2.4 aperture) depth sensor. It is bolstered with a LED flash. On the front, we have a 25MP (f/2.0 aperture) Sony IMX576 lens for capturing selfies.
Realme U1 packs a battery of capacity 3500 mAh and supports 10W fast charging. It runs on Android Oreo 8.1 based ColorOS 5.2. It features a dual nano-Sim tray with a dedicated slot for microSD card.
Realme U1 Price and Availability
Realme U1 will be available in three colours: Ambitious Black, Brave Blue and Fiery Gold. It will be sold exclusively on Amazon India at a price of Rs. 11,999 for the 3GB + 32GB version and at Rs.14,499 for the 4GB + 64GB version. It will be available for purchase from December 5, 12 Noon onwards.
Along with the phone, Realme has launched their own mobile case and earbuds both at a price of Rs.499.
