In a surprising development, an entire shipment of smartphones en route to Spain was robbed at gunpoint on May 29. Thieves targeted an entire truck carrying Realme GT 6 units to Spain. As the driver stopped at a service area to take some rest, the robbers emptied all the cargo. According to reports, all attempts to locate the stolen devices have been unsuccessful.

Efforts To Locate The Robbed Units Unsuccessful, Realme Might Have To Delay Launch
In a post on X, the Realme Spanish account issued an apology, stating that “Realme GT 6 have been stolen on the way to Spain.” Due to the unfortunate incident, the company won’t be able to “ensure the in-store experience” it would have provided otherwise during the launch week. Although the launch is scheduled for June 20, with no devices, the company might have to delay the launch, canceling in-store demos or pickups.
While the incident is a setback for the company, it is an example of a logistical setback that could happen to any consumer electronics company. Most companies use on-road transport to send shipments to different cities and shopping centers in a country.
Given that the Realme GT 6 carried a solid spec sheet, there’s a chance that the robbers will sell the phones in the black market for some immediate cash. Usually, shipments like these carry thousands of smartphones, implying that they could be worth a lot. Some reports also suggest that the robbery could delay the Portuguese launch of the Realme GT 6, which was supposed to take place the same day.
