Realme 6i launched to counter Redmi Note 9

Realme is back again for the second time in a month to launch its 6i smartphone. The brand has positioned it just below the Realme 6, perhaps to counter the recently launched to Redmi Note 9. The Realme 6i not as far off from Realme 6, as the only major difference between the two phones are their primary rear camera sensors and charging capabilities. It is basically the same phone that Realme launched in Europe as Realme 6s.

Realme 6i specifications

The Realme 6i comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. The display has a punch-hole for selfie camera on the top left corner. Just like the Realme 6, the new phone is also powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T gaming chipset, with up to 4GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The Realme 6i includes a quad-rear camera setup featuring a 48MP primary sensor, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 2MP mono lens, and a 2MP 4cm macro lens. For selfies, there is 16MP front camera.

The phone runs Android 10 based Realme UI. There’s a 4,300mAh battery with 30W fast charging supports. It is important to note that the phone ships with a 20W charger bundled in the box.

It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack too. Connectivity-wise, the Realme 6i includes 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/GLONASS, NFC, and USB Type-C.

Realme 6i vs Redmi Note 9: Battle intensifies

Realme 6i is priced in the same bracket as the Redmi Note 9. On paper, the Realme 6i has a slight advantage over Redmi Note 9 in terms CPU, GPU and Faster battery charging capabilities whereas the Redmi Note 9 packs a bigger battery between the two.

Realme 6i price and availability

Realme is offering its new smartphone in Eclipse Black and Lunar White colors. The Realme 6i price in India starts at Rs. 12,999 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version and Rs. 14,999 for the 6GB RAM with 64GB variant. It will be available on Flipkart and Realme online store starting from July 31st.
