Razer Phone 2 Is Out With An Aim To Reclaim Best Gaming Smartphone Title

Razer – a US-based gaming device manufacturer has launched their 2018 flagship smartphone. It is heir to the last year’s Razer mobile and will be referred to as the Razer Phone 2. The phone looks almost identical to the previous Razer phone except that now it has a new aluminum casing. This year company seems to has concentrated more on improving the user experience than revamping the structural features of the phone.

Razer Phone 2 Features: What’s New?

Like last year, the Razer Phone 2 also features a 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440 quad HD display with a refresh rate of 120Hz to give you the best gaming experience. The phone is enclosed in a sleek rectangular casing with a glass back which means now it supports wireless charging. The phone boasts two front-facing speakers which support Dolby Atmos. It is also worth pointing out is that the Razer 2 is completely IP 68 rated (waterproof).

The Razer Phone 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset clocked at 2.8Ghz coupled by Adreno 630. It has a RAM of 8GB with an internal storage of 64 GB along with LTE Gigabit antennas for better data access. The phone features a dual camera setup on the rear comprising of a 12MP f/1.7 aperture wide-angle lens with Optical Image stabilization and a 12MP telephoto secondary lens. It is supported by an 8MP f/2.0 shooter on the front. Razer also seems to have worked on the camera application for improving the overall experience.

The phone packs a 4000 mAh battery which supports Qualcomm QuickCharge 4+. Moreover, it even supports wireless charging and Razer claims that the wireless charging on this device is faster than the traditional Qi wireless charging. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based Nova Launcher, however, the company assures that the device will be getting an OTA update for Android Pie soon. The Razer Phone 2 now boasts Chroma lighting on the back which turns the Razer logo into an impressive looking multi-color notification blinker. It supports around 16.8 million colors and can use static, breathe, or spectrum cycling lighting modes.

Razer Phone 2 Price & Availability

Razer phone 2 comes in two variants: Mirror glass and Satin Glass. The unlocked version of the Mirror glass phone will be available in the US for $799 while the Satin glass version will cost you $899. The pre-orders begin today and will be shipped in the coming few days.
