Popular gaming brand Razer launched its first phone last year, which targeted hardcore gamers and kick-started a gaming phone trend. It’s now time for the next iteration, the Razer Phone 2.

Right after the company announced its second smartphone, the device was seen running the AnTuTu Benchmark, thus confirming specifications that were reported earlier in leaks. These specifications include a whopping 512GB of storage, which has appreciably improved from the earlier 64GB on Razor phone.

When talking about a smartphone for game enthusiasts, one has to consider a powerful chipset along with a good amount of internal storage, as well as RAM space. Therefore, Qualcomm’s flagship chipset, Snapdragon 845 with 8GB of RAM, will be found on Razer phone 2.

Razer phone 2 makes no discernible changes in terms of screen specs, which is to say it employs a 5.7-inch QHD Sharp IGZO screen with refresh rate of up to 120Hz and support for Qualcomm Q-Sync, just like the Razer phone. It is seen running Android 8.1 (Oreo) UI, and scored 283,397 points on the benchmark test. As for now, no information could be gathered about Razer Phone 2 design, cameras, or its battery capacity.

The smartphone could be launched in October or early November, like its predecessor, and could find competition in other gaming flagship phones like ROG Phone and Xiaomi Black Shark.

It is believed that Razer will not be welcoming a notch based display with this launch, and instead sport either a thick bezel to accommodate the sensors and cameras, or a tiny waterdrop style notch.

The phone is expected to take off before the end of this year, and there have been no leaks talking about its design. It’s possible that as far as the design goes, Razer will not make any notable improvement, and sport a block like basic body, and look like a slab with heavy bezels.
