The HONOR 9X Pro is the first phone in India to come pre-installed with the all new Huawei AppGallery and the brand has pulled all stops to ensure that consumers don’t miss out on their favorite apps and features.

In fact, building the AppGallery from scratch has helped the company further improve critical aspects like security and at the same time cultivate an inventive landscape for app developers – all of which make the AppGallery and asset that lends HONOR a competitive edge. Ever since it went global in April 2018, it has already emerged as the third-largest app marketplace in the world with over 400 million active users and presence across 170 countries and a vast network of 1.3 million registered developers.

Company’s development efforts have had a targeted region-specific focus. In India, the first Huawei Developers Day Summit was held in December, and within a short span of a few months, AppGallery has already on-boarded 95% of the top 150 apps in the country with many more on their way. Additionally, company has already rolled in 2000 other popular local apps and in talks with top Indian developers and 5000 app makers to create new experience for the consumers and bring apps that meet their needs. The market place lists apps across 18 categories from entertainment to e-commerce and digital payment, among others, all rigorously tested to safeguard user privacy.

There is a lot to appreciate about the AppGallery, but one of its most exciting experiences is Quick Apps. What makes them interesting? Let’s elaborate.

Quick Apps: Reimagining apps and how we interact with them

Quick Apps represent an ecosystem of a new kind of installation-free apps. Users can simply tap on Quick Apps and use them without installing them on their devices.  As per experts, Quick Apps re-imagine a new & futuristic way of using apps. This is how our app markets will shape up in the future.

The good thing is that you still get the same experience as native apps. Users can add their favorite Quick Apps to Quick Apps Center in order to conveniently access them when required.

Eventually, we all end up with a ton of apps on our phones that we use maybe only once or those that we need only occasionally for a few specific features. Such apps keep accumulating overtime and get difficult to manage. Eventually, these infrequently used apps end up hogging precious storage space, notification panel, and often result in issues like erratic battery drain or even slowing our phones down.

On the HONOR 9X Pro, you can simply add such random apps in Quick App center and forget about them. Quick App is an app ecosystem developed by the brand that houses a new type of installation-free apps. Addressing the above challenge, Quick Apps provides automatic updates for HTML5 pages, and at the same time consumes very little memory space as they are written with only 1/5 amount of codes as compared to that of Android apps.

Consumers can accommodate more than 2,000 Quick Apps instead of just 20 native apps with just 1GB of space. All these amazing features has been brought to you in the latest AppGallery.

The Company also encourages developers by empowering them with IDE development tools to simultaneously publish Quick Apps in the AppGallery.

Rest assured, your favourite apps will work just fine

The company is extremely aggressive about adding more popular apps to the AppGallery and has laid out very lucrative incentives to attract developers to its platform.  To name a few, popular global and Indian apps like MapmyIndia, Here WeGo maps, Aarogya Setu, Jio News, Jio Browser, PayTM, Tik Tok, Truecaller, Oyo, TOI, Zomato, Red Bus, Grofers, Indigo, Hindustan, Nykaa, Yatra, The Hindu, Flipkart, Air Asia, Zara, HDFC, Byju’s, ICICI, Railyatri, ABP News, SBI, Cleartrip, WorkIndia, Agoda, Hungama Play & Hungama Music, MX Player, ShemarooMe, Zee 5,WPS Office, WeChat and others key apps have already made it to the list.

Not just that, there are other seamless ways to get apps that are on their way or haven’t yet made it to the AppGallery. Apps like WhatsApp and Facebook can be searched in AppGallery and installed directly using APKs from their official websites. Another way is to use Phone Clone to transfer apps and other data from your old phone to HONOR 9X Pro.

Users can also download apps via Xender AG assistant available in Xender application or get apps directly from APK store. Apps like Phone Clone and Xender AG assistant can also be used to get applications from other phones, or consumers may use third-party app stores like APK pure.

For Google apps, consumers can access them through the web versions. Users can also create shortcuts for some like YouTube, on the homepage for a seamless experience.

Held to the highest standards of security & privacy

With apps being sourced from multiple platforms, security and user privacy are legit concerns that HONOR takes religiously. All listed Apps available on AppGallery are subject to four major types of testing and there is provision for real-time monitoring and “Run time Protection” through SafetyDetect.

The 3 regional and 15 data centers already have 20+ compliance certifications and there are numerous hardware and software backstops to guard user privacy. All private information is secured with an end-to-end GDPR compliance.

In short, the AppGallery assures security and privacy of the highest standard.

The Road Ahead

AppGallery has come a long way in a very short time. To make rapid strides, HONOR has maintained a region-specific focus and has worked with a fresh perspective, deliver exciting features like Quick Apps, and has developed innovative workarounds to tackle challenges.

HONOR 9X Pro, the first phone to come pre-installed with latest AppGallery in India, also lists impressive hardware. The handset is driven by the powerful 7nm Kirin 810 octa-core chipset and has a gorgeous 6.59-inch full-view display with a 92% screen-to-body ratio. Other highlights include a 16MP pop-up front camera, a triple-rear camera system that comprises 48MP primary camera, 8MP wide-angle shooter, and a 2MP depth sensor, and a 4000mAh battery. HONOR 9X Pro is the latest and the most powerful offering of HONOR’s celebrated X series smartphones.
