Default wallpapers on smartphones are inherently boring. They don’t always bring-out the best in the PPI busting IPS LCD or AMOLED panels, and thus OnePlus partners with DAG Modern to add contemporary and modern Indian art to its smartphones.

These wallpapers will come exclusively integrated with OnePlus X, which has a 5 Inch AMOLED display. We got to experience the device in controlled company environment recently at a launch event in New Delhi, where it brandished a mostly black wallpaper, which was flush with the black side bezels on all sides, thus highlighting the strengths of AMOLED screens.

Commenting on the nature of the association, Vikas Agarwal, General Manager – India, OnePlus, said, “OnePlus X is our greatest feat in style, engineering and craftsmanship. We are inspired by design and are pleased to introduce the element of art to your smartphone experience. The unique partnership brings alive an exquisite collection of modern artwork of renowned artists in the hands of our users.

These artists are part of the DAG Modern stable and are all masters in their own right who established their credentials with their work. We are delighted that a technology company such as OnePlus has chosen to use art in such a creative fashion, linking the widely differing worlds of technology and art. I can only hope for more such sensitive collaborations in time to come,” said Ashish Anand, Managing Director, DAG Modern.
