OnePlus is all set to unveil its budget range television in India on July 2. Continuing with the piecemeal unveiling, CEO Pete Lau has revealed few more interesting details ahead of the launch.

OnePlus had made its debut in the TV segment with the premium OnePlus TV Q1 and Q1 Pro launched last year. This year, the company will venture into the affordable segment which is especially relevant in markets like India.

In an interview with Android Central, Pete Lau has spoken of the key factors on which OnePlus is working: design and user experience. It has already been confirmed that the new OnePlus TV will be priced below Rs 20,000. The TV is to come with an ultra-thin design having a 6.9-mm thickness, lesser than OnePlus 8.

The upcoming affordable OnePlus TVs will offer slim bezels on all sides for immersive viewing experience. The display will get a 95% screen-to-body ratio with a Cinematic display that covers 93% DCI-P3 color gamut. To enhance picture quality, the company is using its Gamm engine.

“While we are expanding to the premium affordable segment, our emphasis on design remains at the forefront as always. This is evident in our bezel-less design with a 95 percent screen to body ratio, which is common in high-range TVs but is a stand out feature in the premium affordable segment,” said Pete Lau in the interview.

However, OnePlus has still not said a word on the sizes of TV they are going to launch next month. But seeing the prices and specs, we took a safe assumption that the upcoming OnePlus TVs could be introduced in 32-inch and 43-inch sizes. OnePlus has already started taking pre-orders on Amazon India for its 2020 TVs.
