OnePlus 7 Pro vs OPPO Reno 10X Zoom: Display

OnePlus 7 Pro

Starting with the display, which we interact with the most, OnePlus 7 Pro flaunts a larger 6.67-inch curved Fluid AMOLED panel that has a better 3120x1440p resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and 516 PPI. On the other hand, Reno 10X Zoom edition sports a 6.6-inch panoramic Full HD+ (2340 × 1080 pixels) resolution screen with 19:5:9 aspect ratio.

OPPO Reno 10x Zoom

OnePlus has garnered A+ rating from Displaymate might be because of the overall quality coupled with support for 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ content view. OPPO only has the standard 60Hz refresh rate, which feels a tad less fluid than the OnePlus 7 Pro’s 90Hz display. However, OPPO Reno comes with TUV Rheinland eye protection certification, which the OnePlus can’t claim.

While both of them comes with under display fingerprint scanners, OnePlus claims an upgraded solution over the current industrial standards. OPPO has offered the latest Gorilla Glass 6 while the OnePlus sticks to Gorilla Glass 5.

Both of these phones are comparable in dimensions and in thickness, but Reno is a good 20 grams lighter.

OnePlus 7 Pro vs OPPO Reno 10X Zoom: Design

Aesthetically, both the device showcases a similar gradient vibe at the back and infinitesimal bezels upfront. The frontal full display is possible thanks to the pop-up camera mechanism in both, albeit functioning slightly different.

OPPO’s side-lifting implementation called as sharkfin design looks slick and unique.

OnePlus brings the 7 Pro in Mirror Grey, Almond, Nebula Blue colors while you could grab the OPPO Reno in Ocean Green and Jet Black colors.

OnePlus 7 Pro vs OPPO Reno 10X Zoom: Software

OnePlus 7 Pro vs OPPO Reno

This one is a simple pick, but it’s also a matter of individual preferences. If you belong to the stock android club, then go with Oxygen OS of OnePlus 7 Pro that has a couple of useful features up its sleeves without bogging down the performance. Oxygen OS comes with a Zen (Digital Wellbeing replica), gaming mode, parallel apps, app locker, smart boost, aggressive battery management, dark mode, display tuning modes and plenty of convenient gestures and button controls.

On the other hand, if you are one who wants a feature-packed OS experience, go the Color OS route. The animations and aesthetics are not up to our alley but might entice you.

OnePlus 7 Pro vs OPPO Reno 10X Zoom: Camera

Beginning with the rear shooters, OnePlus packs a 48MP (f/1.6) primary camera with 8MP 3x Zoom (f/2.4) telephoto sensor and 16MP 117-degree (f/2.2) ultra-wide sensor. Upfront, you won’t find a notch or cutout as the 7 Pro’s 16Mp selfie camera sits within a pop-up module. The imaging prowess is aided by an improved nightscape mode and UltraShot algorithm( HDR+ and Super Resolution).

OPPO Reno also emphasizes the rear camera hardware which is clear from the name- 10X Hybrid Optical Zoom. Here, we have a 48MP(f/1.7 aperture) primary rear Sony IMX586 sensor with LED flash paired with a 13MP 10x hybrid optical zoom (f/3.0 aperture) periscope telephoto lens and an 8MP (f/2.2 aperture) 120-degree Ultra Wide Lens.

OnePlus 7 Pro vs OPPO Reno 10X Zoom: Internals

Now the above features are the peripheral elements that you use while your experience depends upon the internal hardware.

OnePlus 7 Pro is helmed by a 7nm based octa-core 2.84GHz Snapdragon 855 chipset with AI engine, Adreno 640 GPU. This is assisted by up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 based built-in storage.

Snapdragon 855

OPPO Reno dittos the chipset specs with the OnePlus 7 Pro or the other way around as Reno debuted earlier. However, the memory extends to a maximum of 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 256GB (UFS 2.1) storage only. Both of them performs evenly in the Antutu Benchmark testing with a score of 366128 (OnePlus 7 Pro) and 369254 (OPPO Reno 10x Zoom).

Both the devices ships with the heat dissipation mechanisms, handy during long intensive gaming hours. However, OPPO employs multiple techniques to tackle the heat.

These graphics-intensive games and overall phone consumption eats up the battery quickly. To combat this, OnePlus 7 Pro carries a 4000mAh battery while Reno has a slightly larger 4065mAh battery. OnePlus gives a faster 30W Warp charging support as compared to 20W VOOC charging on OPPO.
