OnePlus has updated its software maintenance schedule and posted on its official forum on Thursday. As per the new schedule, OnePlus is following two-fold update strategy where all its phone will receive software updates for two years from the date of release and security updates till the end of the third year. The new schedule applies to OnePlus 3 and all phones launched afterwards.

“As per the maintenance schedule, there will be 2 years of regular software updates from the release date of the phone (release dates of T variants would be considered), including new features, Android versions, Android security patches and bug fixes and an additional year of Android security patch updates every 2 months,” OnePlus notes in the OnePlus forum.

The company says that the new software maintenance schedule is effective immediately. This means all OnePlus 6 buyers will be upgraded to 2019’s Android O opening system as well as the forthcoming Android P release. The OnePlus 6 has received a tremendous response from the customers as the company claims to have already sold more than a million units worldwide.

The company in its forum also announced the upcoming release of last open beta build update for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T which will happen later this week. At the end of the beta program, the company will roll out a new stable version Oxygen OS via OTA for all users.

“We will be publishing the last Open Beta build for OnePlus 3/3T later this week, and at the beginning of July, we will provide a stable version of OnePlus 3/3T for beta testers to migrate back to the stable version of OxygenOS,” notes OnePlus.
