OnePlus has now officially stated that its next flagship killer – the OnePlus 6 will have a glass body. The latest OnePlus 6 related revelation came from none other than company’s own CEO Pete Lau who confirmed this on the official forum. The new revelation is certainly in line with previous glass back leak.

In his forum post, Lau took us through the company’s philosophy behind the use of glass in the back of the upcoming smartphone. He said: “OnePlus 6’s glass design is centered around creating a ‘sense of value’ and ‘premium’ hand-feel. The advantages of glass over metal are manifold: glass communicates a transparent, bright, and pure feeling. The way glass transforms under different lighting is a particularly important challenge—the OnePlus design team tested over 70 glass prototypes before selecting the best one.”

Pete Lau also stated that the OnePlus 6’s glass back comes with five layers of Nanotech Coating which is better than three layers standard that industry follows.
