OnePlus 5T Design and Display
The OnePlus 5T occupies slightly bigger footprint than the original OnePlus 5. It looks and feels almost the same from the back, save for a bigger and bulging camera sensor and the new fingerprint sensor placement right above the OnePlus branding.
On the front, the phone is radically different. It looks a lot more premium, has significantly more screen space, significantly smaller bezels and has on-screen buttons. The display adjusts contrast based on what you are doing on your phone.
To compensate for lack of fingerprint sensor, OnePlus 5T has a Face unlock, which according to OnePlus can unlock your phone in 0.4 seconds.
Interestingly, you can’t use sensitive apps like banking apps when you unlock your phone with Face Unlock (for security).
OnePlus 5T Performance and Software
The OnePlus 5T has the best in class Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor paired with 6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage. It’s running light and interesting Android Nougat-based Oxygen OS, and the same software will be passed on to the OnePlus 5 sometime later and thus the software and hardware experience shall remain same as the OnePlus 5 in the long run.
Oxygen OS now include s a DND mode for gaming, dual apps, a switch app that will make switching phone (Android or iOS) more convenient.
Android Oreo open beta will be available for OnePlus users in late December.
OnePlus 5T Camera – No 2x Zoom
OnePlus now has a bigger primary sensor. There are two sensors on the rear (16MP + 20MP), each with F/1.7 aperture lens and together they can be used to capture portrait shots.
OnePlus says that it has improved the low light and portrait mode. And to do so, it had to compromise on 2X optical zoom. The 2X zoom option is still there in the app but its digital zoom accomplished using software prowess.
OnePlus 5T Battery and Audio
The OnePlus 5T houses same 3300mAh battery and it also supports faster dash charging. Since the chipset and display resolution remain same, we expect an almost similar mileage in spite of the increase in display size.
OnePlus 5T Price in India
The OnePlus 5T will be available from Amazon.in starting from November 21. The 6GB RAM variant will cost ₹32, 999 and the 8GB RAM option with 128GB storage will cost ₹37,999.
