OnePlus 12 5G to launch in China on December 4: Here’s What One Can Expect

2024 is about to begin and all the tech giants are gearing up for their prominent launches that will take place in Q1, 2024. OnePlus 12 has been making rounds for quite a while now and the wait has officially come to an end as the launch date for OnePlus 12 5G has been confirmed. OnePlus 12 5G will launch in China on December 4 at 7 PM CST. OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis announced the news via Weibo. The global launch of the OnePlus 12 will follow soon after, most probably in January 2024.

Here’s what one can expect from the OnePlus flagship this time.

OnePlus 12: Expected Features & Specs

A few months ago, a leak revealed the camera specs of the OnePlus 12 smartphone. According to the leak, OnePlus 12 will feature a periscope lens in the camera setup. Recently, OnePlus itself confirmed that there will be a 64MP periscope lens along with an OmniVision OV64B sensor with 3x optical zoom on the OnePlus 12 5G. There will also be a Sony LYT-808 primary sensor.

OnePlus 12 will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset coupled with up to 16GB RAM and 256GB storage onboard. It is expected to run Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 out of the box. The device is said to sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED 2K LTPO display with 120Hz refresh rate. However, the brand has also hinted towards a new ProXDR display that will be called X1 Oriental Screen delivering a peak brightness of 2600 nits. The display will have a DisplayMate A+ rating.

Under the hood, OnePlus 12 will most probably pack a 5000mAh battery with 150W fast charging. Some design renders were leaked in July 2023 according to which, OnePlus 12 will have the same design as OnePlus 11. The backside might get glossier and more color options might be available, but that’s it. Also instead of ‘Hassleblad’, there might be ‘H’ branding in the rear camera setup.

Since the launch is 12 days away, we will surely get to know about more confirmed specs soon.
