If you are someone who has been following smartphone news around for some time, you would know Nothing Phone (1) is coming. It’s unlike anything and it is arriving in Summer 2022 although OnePlus’ founder Carl Pei’s Nothing hasn’t disclosed dates at least at the time of writing this.

Nothing mentions key announcements

A recent tweet by Nothing mentions a few key announcements. We already know that the Nothing Phone (1) will get a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor thanks to a few reports that mushroomed a few weeks ago. Apart from that, the transparent back is one of the heavily teased elements that the Phone (1) is likely to bring onboard given the fact that it has already marketed Ear (1) TWS with semi-transparent chassis with success.

The said Nothing’s tweet further mentions a recycled aluminum mid-frame which means Nothing Phone (1) units will reduce carbon emission that a newly manufactured mid-frame would otherwise bring onboard. There’s no chin as per the tweet although what that exactly means is something we will have to wait for some more time.

The launch date for Nothing Phone (1) is still rumored although Nothing has given a tentative frame for its launch aka Summer 2022. So, we should get our hands on the Nothing Phone (1) soon.

Nothing Phone (1) Expected Specifications

Nothing Phone (1) is likely to launch this Summer

When it comes to the specifications, some details have been disclosed while most of the details are yet to be confirmed. Nothing is emphasising on semi-transparent design just like Ear (1) TWS which means we could see Nothing Phone (1) with a transparent back. The phone sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC under the hood although there’s a heavy inclination toward Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC.

There’s an Android 12-powered NothingOS as well which is a custom UI for Phone (1) whose launcher was released as a beta version a few weeks ago. Apart from that, the device is likely to house a 6.43-inch 90Hz panel and will have a 4,500mAh battery under the chassis. It is likely to house a 50MP or 64MP triple rear camera setup although most of the details mentioned here are either yet to be confirmed or yet to be known.
