A few days ago, we talked about how Nothing’s sub-brand CMF is all set to launch its first smartphone under its name on July 8. Now Nothing’s official X handle has started sharing more details about CMF Phone 1 daily. Nothing has shared the display specs, design features, and more of the upcoming smartphone.

CMF by Nothing Phone 1: Details
Nothing’s sub-brand CMF, known for its unique design language and affordability, is working on its first-ever smartphone, a budget-friendly mid-range device. A user on X @realMlgmXyysd claimed that the device shown in cryptic posts is CMF Phone 1 and the screw is a part of the unique feature that will be called “Nothing Lock”. Now, the brand itself has confirmed that CMF Phone 1 will have a rotating screw on the back that will allow users to change the back cover of their smartphones, adding a unique touch to the design.
It has also been clarified that Nothing Lock is not the final name for the feature but Nothing’s own internal term for what is a special connector on the back of the device. It has been designed to enable the attachment of exclusive accessories by Nothing like lanyards and brackets. CMF Phone 1 is expected to cost around 249-279 USD (Under 20,000 INR) and launch in July 2024.

CMF by Nothing has confirmed that Phone 1 will be powered by a Dimensity 7300 chipset with 16GB RAM, and sport a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 2000 nits brightness, and HDR10+ support.
CMF Phone 1 is said to have a plastic frame with a vegan leather finish and pack a 5000mAh battery with 33W charging. It is expected to feature 6GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. As for the camera, CMF Phone 1 is rumored to sport a 50MP main, 50MP ultrawide sensors at the back, and a 16MP selfie sensor at the front. Connectivity features include WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, a replaceable plastic back cover, Nothing Lock, and more. It will run Nothing OS 2.6 based on Android 14.
CMF will also launch CMF Buds Pro 2 and CMF Watch Pro 2 alongside the CMF Phone 1 during their 8th July Community Update Event.
