Apple and Nokia were involved in a slugfest over a patent lawsuit in 2011and once again they are hitting out on each other over the same issue. Nokia has once again sued Apple over patent infringement issue in the US and Europe. The former world number mobile phone brand made it official by putting out an official statement on its website.

The new suit is filed at Dusseldorf, Mannheim and Munich in Germany and the US District court For Eastern Texas. Nokia has said that it will file for “further actions in other jurisdictions.”

Ilkka Rahnasto, head of Patent Business at Nokia, said:  “Through our sustained investment in research and development, Nokia has created or contributed to many of the fundamental technologies used in today’s mobile devices, including Apple products. After several years of negotiations trying to reach agreement to cover Apple’s use of these patents, we are now taking action to defend our rights.”

Interestingly, a day before Nokia filed its suit against Cupertino giant, Apple decided to file a petition against Acacia Research Corp and Conversant Intellectual Property Management Inc. for plotting with Nokia to seek illegal revenue gains from the company.
