Nikon Z6, Z7 full-frame mirrorless cameras Launched In India: Price, Specifications and Features

About a month Nikon took the wraps off its new full-frame mirrorless cameras – Z6 and Z7 and today both these beasts landed in India. The Nikon Z6 and Z7 are first full-frame mirrorless cameras by the Japanese company in the country.

What is a mirrorless camera?

The regular DSLR camera features a complex mirror system or prime that reflects incoming light of to the viewfinder so you can preview your shot. When you press the shutter button, the mirror flips up, the shutter opens and light hits the image sensor, which captures the final image. In a mirrorless camera, on the other hand, the mirror is replaced by a digital viewfinder.

Nikon Z7 and Z6 Features and Highlights

Among the two newly launched Nikon cameras, the Z7 is a professional-grade mirrorless camera and is said to be at par with Nikon’s D850 DLSR in terms of features and performance. The Nikon Z7 boasts a 45.7-megapixel sensor with 493 focus points and an ISO range of 64-25600. The Z6, on the other hand, is comparatively more affordable and houses a 24.5-megapixel sensor with 273 focus points, and 100-51200 ISO.

Both the Nikon Z7 and the Nikon Z6 are features the same Expeed image processing unit, and a hybrid AF system covering approximately 90% imaging area. While the light sensitivity for the Z7 ranges between ISO 64–25600, the Z6 has ISO 100–51200. As for continuous shooting mode, the Z7 can clicks at 12fps while the Z6 can capture at 9fps. 

 

What else common between the Nikon Z7 and Nikon Z6 is weather seal body, 4K video recording (10 bit), inbuilt Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and more.

Alongside these new cameras the company has also introduced all-new Z-mount which will be available with a 24-70mm f/4 kit lens. Nikon has also introduced 35mm and 50mm prime lens with f/1.8 aperture. For those who want to use their existing Nikon F-mount lenses, there is the FTZ adapter priced which will be fully compatible with about 92 lenses including autofocus and auto exposure support. It will also support approximately 360 existing F-mount lenses but with manual focus.
