Lenovo has started pushing Android 9 Pie update for Motorola One Power in India. The handset, that debuted in India for Rs. 15,999 in September, runs stock Android software as part of Google Android One program.

In case you don’t already know, Android One phones guarantee version updates for 2 years and security updates for three.

Motorola One Power Gets Dual 4G VoLTE as well

Motorola One Power is powered by Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The chipset supports Dual 4G VoLTE but the connectivity option was missing on the phone at launch. This shall be fixed with the new Pie update as well.

Other than that, the Motorola One Power houses a 5000mAh battery (which makes it a tad thick and heavy) has a 6.2-inch Full HD+ display, 16MP+5MP rear cameras, and a 12MP front camera.

Android 9 Pie Update Status for Android One Phones in India

This is the first Motorola phone to get Android 9 Pie in India. Apart from Motorola One Power, Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 6.1 were also updated to Android 9 Pie a couple of weeks back. The Nokia 7.1 Plus got pie way ahead in September itself. Other affordable HMD Global phones that are part of Google’s Android One initiative should get Pie upgrade soon as well.

Xiaomi just opened Android Pie beta program for Mi A2, so the public rollout will still take some time. Asus Zenfone Max M1 will reportedly get Android Pie by the end of this year.

Apart from Android One Phones, Realme has confirmed that it will be upgrading Realme 1 and Realme 2 to Android Pie at some unspecified later date.
