Motorola has always been amongst the list of the first-ones in the smartphone world, whether it is about launching products which are benchmarks of excellence or about keeping its product up to date. Recently Motorola had announced the Lollipop update for Motorola Droid Turbo. And the special feature of this update is that it will upgrade the phone’s firmware directly to Android Lollipop v5.1 and will skip Lollipop v5.0. And Motorola has just been outstanding in releasing these updates earlier than many other brands and OEMs. Now as the reports disclose, Motorola is about to release the Lollipop 5.1 update build for original Moto X, Moto G LTE version and Moto E.

Motorola is soon expected to start rolling out the Lollipop upgrades for these smartphones very soon. This update will initially be released for the first generation of these handsets as the second generation already runs on Android Lollipop v5.0. But the advantage of this update over the preloaded Lollipop in second generation is that this will take the phone’s firmware directly to Lollipop 5.1 and will skip Lollipop v5.0.2. Motorola’s Software Product Manager, David Schuster confirmed on his Google+ profile that the update will be to install Lollipop v5.1 and will skip lollipop v5.0.

The company has been reportedly working on this release for long. If resources are to be believed, Motorola has already started testing this upgrade on handsets. Although there is no exact news on the date of release this firmware upgrade, yet it is expected that this update will be released very soon. Motorola has blamed Google for this bit of delay in releasing this update.
