Microsoft Surface Book 2 and Surface Laptop Enters Indian Market: Price Starts from Rs 86,999 onwards

Microsoft Surface Laptop and the Surface Book 2 have finally launched in India. About a year after their unveiling, Microsoft has brought them to the subcontinent and not so surprisingly they cost a bomb.

In India, the Surface Laptop starts at Rs 86,999, while the Surface Book 2 launch price starts at Rs 1,37,999. Both devices will be available on all leading online (Flipkart, Amazon India and Paytm) and offline sales channels.

Both these Windows 10-based devices pack top of the line hardware with the latest generation Intel processors and slim casings. The Surface Book 2, features an 8th Gen Intel Core processor coupled with either NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 or 1060 discrete graphics. As per Microsoft, the second generation Surface Book is two time as powerful as Apple’s MacBook Pro and 5 times more powerful than its predecessor.

Microsoft is offering the Surface Book 2 in two screen sizes: 13.5-inch display with 3000×2000 pixel resolution and a 15-inch display variant with a 3240×2160 pixel resolution. Being a convertible device, a user can detach the Surface Book 2 screen to use it as a tablet.
By default, the Surface Book 2 display has a 3:2 aspect ratio. As per Microsoft, it offers 17 hours of video playback and if you use it as a tablet, the battery can last for 5 hours.

On the connectivity front, the Surface Book 2 includes two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, one USB Type-C port, SD card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1 LE. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack for the audio-video experience. Microsoft has also packed an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera in this convertible device. It also supports the Surface Pen as well as the Surface Dial.

Coming to the Surface Laptop, it too houses a 13.5-inch PixelSense display with 2,256 x 1,504 pixels resolution. It runs Windows 10S  which is an education-centric operating system. The Surface Laptop rocks up to seventh-generation Intel Core i7 processor, coupled with Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 GPU. Microsoft is offering it with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage. The company claims that the Surface Laptop offer around 14.5 hours of battery life.
