Microsoft has been the boat toppling in the middle of a sea storm. It had to face the software bases rivalry from Google’s Android and then in the smartphone segment, Apple has been providing Microsoft a tough time. This time Microsoft seems to act really smart as it plans to make Windows available for Android devices rather than focusing on adding devices to its catalog.
“As part of the Windows Insider Program, Microsoft will partner with Xiaomi to offer Windows 10 free downloads to a select group of Xiaomi Mi 4 users. Xiaomi Mi 4 users will get the ability to flash their phones with the new Windows 10 OS and provide feedback to Xiaomi and Microsoft on their experience,” Microsoft said.
And this will mark the beginning of Windows 10 being rolled out for Android based devices according to the preference of the users who already are familiar with re-flashing their devices to modify the pre-installed ROM on their devices. “This is an experimental program entirely led by Microsoft, working directly with select members of our Xiaomi fan community in China,” a Xiaomi spokesperson said.
