Micromax Canvas Spark 2 launched for Rs. 3999

Micromax has further expanded its popular Canvas series with the launch of Canvas Spark 2.  The phone will be available exclusively on Snapdeal at a price tag of Rs. 3999. Customers can register on Snapdeal from 23 September 2015, 10 am onwards. The first flash sale will go live on 30 September at 12 noon onwards until the stock exhausts.canvas_spark_2_micromax

With this budget smartphone, Micromax is eyeing a major chunk of budget phone users as it trying to woo them with the tagline “India ka 3G phone.” The phone offers notable specifications, android Lollipop along with 3G support. Canvas Spark 2 sports a 5-inch FWVGA display with 480 X 854-screen resolution. This 3G compatible dual SIM phone touts a quad-core chipset clocked at 1.3GHz and runs of on the latest Android 5.1. It comes with a 5MP primary camera with a fixed focus lens and an LED Flash, a 2MP selfie camera.

On the launch event, CEO of Micromax Vineet Taneja spoke at length about 3G adaptation India and liked it with opportunity for Canvas Spark 2 to flourish in the market. He said: “The Canvas Spark proved to be a huge success for Micromax, selling over half a million units in less than two months of its launch. With the Canvas Spark 2, we are yet again reaffirming our commitment to massify the smartphone and Internet usage in the country.”

“Currently, smartphone penetration stands at 12% in the country and 3G adoption is also barely 10%, which presents a huge opportunity to upgrade. We believe that the e-commerce channel is also expanding and the 3-4K category will be the next frontier. Micromax with its strong brand presence and great product offering focused on democratizing technology, has historically cemented itself as the most preferred brand for the mass smartphone segment. With this launch, we are looking at adding a further impetus to this and drive the overall entry into smartphone category,” he added.

Micromax Canvas Spark 2 comes loaded with popular apps like Scandid, Amazon’s e-book app Kindle, a popular video streaming app Hotstar, performance enhancer tool – Clean Master, Swiftkey keyboard, and Snapdeal app for online shopping.
