Mi Mix Fold 2 launched in China: Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro & Buds 4 Pro also unveiled

Xiaomi launched a host of new products in China yesterday. These include the much anticipated foldable Mi Mix Fold 2 smartphone along with Pad 5 Pro & Buds 4 Pro. The 2nd generation of foldable from Xiaomi comes with premium specs and features. Let us have a look at what these devices have to offer.

Xiaomi Mix Fold 2: Specs & Features

Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset with 12GB RAM and 1TB storage. It runs Android 12-based MIUI Fold 13 OS and supports dual Nano-SIM. It features a 6.56-inch E5 AMOLED outer display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and a 21:9 aspect ratio.

The inner display features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The outer display has 1000 nits peak brightness. The smartphone has an 8.02-inch LTPO 2.0 foldable display with a 120Hz refresh rate, DCI-P3 color gamut, and 2K+ resolution. The inner display has 1300 nits peak brightness.

In terms of camera, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 has a triple camera setup with a 50MP main lens with OIS, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens. The rear camera records videos in 8K resolution at 24fps. The front has a 20MP selfie lens.

The smartphone uses Xiaomi’s self-developed Micro Waterdrop Hinge. For connectivity, it has Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, dual-band WiFi, and a USB Type-C port. It packs a 4500mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. Its dimensions are 161.6×144.7×11.2mm and it weighs 262 grams.

Xiaomi Mix Fold 2: Price & Availability

The smartphone will be available in the following storage models-

  • 12GB RAM+256GB storage- CNY 8999 (Rs. 1,06,200)
  • 12GB RAM+512GB storage- CNY 9999 (Rs. 1,18,000)
  • 12GB RAM+1TB storage- CNY 11,999 (Rs. 1,41,600)

It is available via Xiaomi’s online store for pre-order in China in Moon Shadow Black and Star Gold colorways.

Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro: Specs & Features

Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro features a 12.4-inch LCD display with 2.5k resolution and a 120hz refresh rate. It has 500 nits peak brightness and supports P3 color gamut and HDR10 along with Dolby Vision certification.

The Pad 5 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 870 chipset with up to 512GB storage and up to 12GB RAM. The pad has a triple camera setup on the rear with a 50MP main sensor. There is a 20MP selfie lens as well.

The Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro packs a 10,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. It has a quad-speaker setup with 2 microphones. The pad runs MIUI 13 out of the box.

Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro: Price & Availability

It comes in the following storage variants-

  • 6GB RAM+128GB storage- 2799 yuan (415 dollars)
  • 8GB RAM+256GB storage- 3299 yuan (490 dollars)
  • 12GB RAM+512GB storage- 3999 yuan (593 dollars)

It comes in Black, Silver, and Green colors and is currently available in China only.

Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro: Specs & Price

Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro comes with a space capsule design and supports adaptive dynamic noise reduction with a noise reduction depth of 48dB and a noise reduction width of up to 4000Hz. It supports 3 levels of adaptive automatic adjustment which can automatically identify the environment and adjust noise reduction depth. The headset can adjust the 3-stop transparency mode of standard, vocal enhancement, and environment enhancement to meet different needs.

The buds come with an anti-wind noise algorithm and would shield the users from wind noise during sporting activities and other scenarios. It has a built-in 3 mic+ bone voiceprint noise reduction for calls, which can provide a better signal-to-noise ratio and better vocal capture effect. It is equipped with a custom 11, large amplitude moving coil unit and supports 96KHz high-definition audio as well as SBC, AAC, and LHDC 4.0 audio codecs. The Buds support independent spatial audio that can be used on other Bluetooth devices after it is turned on.

The Buds 4 Pro provides up to 9 hours of playback while with the charging case, the usage time is extended to 38 hours with the charging case. The buds are priced at 1099 yuan (613 dollars) and are available in China in Gold and Black colors.
