Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to enter India’s rapidly growing EV market with the highly anticipated e-Vitara, scheduled to launch on December 2, 2025. Expected to arrive as the brand’s first all-electric SUV, the e-Vitara aims to combine range, competitive pricing, and a familiar yet futuristic design.

With two battery packs, modern interiors, and a robust feature set, the e-Vitara is shaping up to be one of Maruti’s most important releases in recent years. Here’s what we know about the upcoming eSUV.

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara: Price (Expected)

Maruti e-Vitara

Although Maruti Suzuki hasn’t disclosed the e-Vitara’s pricing, the e-SUV could launch at around Rs. 18 lakhs (ex-showroom). Since this is the company’s first electric SUV, it could launch it at an even more aggressive price, perhaps around Rs. 17.00 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the baseline model with the 49 kWh battery pack.

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara: Battery Pack & Range

For now, the e-Vitara is expected to debut with two battery packs: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. While the latter is expected to deliver a real-world range of up to 500 kilometers between charges, the former should offer a range of 350-400 kilometers (speculation). The battery should also support DC fast charging, charging to 100% in about 50 minutes.

At launch, the e-Vitara should be available in a two-wheel-drive configuration, with a single motor powering the front wheels.

  • On the 49 kWh battery pack variant, the motor delivers up to 105.8 kW peak power.
  • On the 61 kWh battery pack variant, the motor delivers up to 128 kW peak power.
  • The peak torque remains the same for both models: 192.5 Nm.

Maruti is also said to offer multiple drive modes, including Eco, Normal, and Sports. Further, there’s also a snow mode and regenerative braking.

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara: Exterior & Interior Design

On the front, the e-Vitara features a closed grille, slimmer LED DRLs, and an aerodynamic bumper, signalling its electric identity. Inside, the cabin shifts toward a more premium, minimalist layout. You get a larger floating touchscreen, redesigned digital cluster, and compact drive selector. Overall, the e-Vitara blends familiarity with thoughtful EV-focused refinements.

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara: Safety Features

When it comes to safety-related features, the e-Vitara should offer Level 2 ADAS with features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and emergency braking. Additional features include an electronic parking brake, all-disc brakes, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, and a stronger chassis.

Given that Maruti Suzuki’s recent cars have scored a perfect safety/crash score in BNCAP and GNCAP, we’re expecting the e-Vitara to do the same.
