Just ahead of the anticipated launch of the Mahindra Thar 5-door variant in mid-2024, Mahindra has introduced the Thar Earth Edition. This latest iteration of the iconic SUV boasts a series of aesthetic upgrades both internally and externally. While the Earth Edition offers several design enhancements, it doesn’t introduce many new features compared to its predecessors. Mahindra Thar Earth Edition Price In India
Mahindra exclusively offers the Earth Edition on the hard top option of the LX variant, ensuring a premium experience for enthusiasts. Priced competitively, the Earth Edition starts from Rs 18.49 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) for the petrol manual variant, extending up to Rs 21.42 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) for the diesel automatic model.
Exterior Design
In its exterior makeover, the Thar Earth Edition sports a captivating Desert Fury matte paint finish, evoking the serene tones of desert landscapes. Along the side profile, new decals add a distinctive flair, while a prominent Earth Edition badge embellishes the B-pillars, asserting its unique identity. The front grille, now matching the body color, contributes to the harmonious aesthetic. Notably, the alloy wheels are adorned with Thar badging, tastefully finished in a sand-inspired hue, completing the ensemble with finesse.
Inside the cabin, the Thar Earth Edition greets occupants with a luxurious touch, introducing leatherette seats for the first time in the Thar lineup. Embracing elegance, it adopts a sophisticated black and beige dual-tone interior theme. Reflecting the desert-inspired exterior, subtle desert color inserts adorn the AC vents, steering wheel, and center console, infusing a cohesive ambiance.
Notably, the Thar branding on the doors receives a makeover in this new hue. Further enhancing the premium feel, the seats and headrests feature beige stitching along with Thar branding. Each Thar Earth Edition comes with a special touch: a unique numbered decorative VIN plate, starting from serial number 1. This feature adds a personal and exclusive touch to each vehicle, making it truly one-of-a-kind.
Powertrain
Exclusively offered on the top-tier LX variant, the Thar Earth Edition presents a range of powertrain choices, catering to diverse driving preferences. Engine options comprise a potent 2.0-liter petrol and a robust 2.2-liter diesel, each available with both manual and automatic transmissions. The 2.0-liter petrol engine delivers a commanding 150bhp and 300Nm of torque in manual guise, while the automatic variant boasts an impressive 320Nm. On the other hand, the 2.2-liter diesel engine delivers a formidable 130bhp and 300Nm of torque across both manual and automatic configurations, ensuring a dynamic and versatile driving experience.
