LG Velvet phone specs teased weeks before launch

LG Velvet launch is scheduled for the 7th of May, but South Korean conglomerate finding it difficult to contain its excitement for this upcoming smartphone. Post showcasing its design and launch date announcement, LG has revealed a few more specs of the phone.

Thanks to the fresh revelation by the company, we know that the LG Velvet houses a 6.8-inch Cinema Fullvision OLED display with a 20.5:9 aspect ratio. The screen will have curved edges on either side which will blend chassis to create an oval 3D arc shape.

LG smartphones are generally rated highly in terms of audio capabilities and upcoming Velvet phone seems no exception. It boasts of stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack. A new feature called LG AI Sound is touted which automatically optimizes media for better clarity and immersive experience. There’s also Voice-out Focus suggested lets users adjust the manually tweak background noise for audio in videos.

The LG Velvet cameras includes a triple rear setup comprising of a 48MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 5MP depth sensor. For selfies, LG opts for a 16MP camera that sits in waterdrop notch. It will be the first 5G phone for the brand. As we reported earlier, the LG Valvet will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G chipset.

The phone will include 8GB of RAM, 128GB storage with support for up to 1TB a microSD card. A 4,300mAh battery and a USB-C port also have been confirmed. LG Velvet also supports Lg Dual Screen and Stylus Pen accessories though they are sold separately.

The LG Velvet will be offered in four colors: Aurora White, Aurora Gray, Aurora Green, and Illusion Sunset. The phone will be announced on May 7.
