LG has announced the launch of its next flagship phone V40 ThinQ on October 3. This comes after V35 ThinQ was introduced by the company a few months ago. Based on the inputs from various sources, Key specifications that LG could bring with this launch include a triple rear cameras with Telephoto lens, wide-angle lens, 2x zoom and AI features, dual front camera setup. The phone could also be running Android 9.0 (Pie) out of the box.
The invite states ‘Take 5″, that could mean five cameras for this smartphone. The event will kick off on October 3, at 5 PM (2:30 AM IST on October 4th) in New York City and on the 4th of October at 10 AM in Korea. The price of the phone will be revealed during the launch event.

LG V40 ThinQ Features (Expected)
Renders point towards a 6.4-inch (3120 x 1440 pixels) FullVision Super Bright IPS display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The leaks further suggest that there could be a notch on the display. If that is true, this could be a first on any LG “V” series devices.
The phone could possibly be powered by Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU assistance, teamed with 6GB LPDDR4x RAM + 64GB / 128GB storage unit, which expansion provision of up to 2TB using microSD. There could be Google’s latest Android 9.0 (Pie) out of the box with LG UX topping running the device. A 3,300mAh battery having Qualcomm’s Quick Charge support and Wireless charging feature might also come with LG’s upcoming smartphone.
As per the reports, the phone will bear a triple rear camera setup with 12MP + 16MP + 12MP snesors, with the main camera of 12MP having a f/1.5 aperture, 1.4µm pixel size, while the 16MP camera will have f/1.9 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size. The third camera with 12MP will feature f/2.4 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size. The rear cameras will get a Dual LED flash support.
Talking about the front camera aspects, a dual camera combo will be allegedly present in 8MP (Primary)+ 5MP( Auxiliary) combination.
Additional features like Fingerprint sensor, Water, dust resistance(IP68), MIL-STD 810G certification, 3.5mm audio jack, 32-bit Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC, DTS: X 3D Surround Sound, Stereo speakers have also been reported for LGV40 ThinQ.
Connectivity features on board will possibly comprise 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C. The phone will allmeasure 158.7 x 75.8 x 7.79mm and weigh 169 grams.
