LG has confirmed that their upcoming flagship, LG V30, will feature a 6-inch Full Vision POLED display. Just like the G6, LG V30’s display will adhere to 18:9 aspect ratio, and will be compliant with Dolby vision and HDR 10.

Commenting on the forthcoming device LG Electronics Mobile Communications President Juno Cho said, “Expertise in OLED has long been a core competency of LG, and the technology has always been seen as a potential value-add for smartphones. With competition in the global smartphone space fiercer now than ever, we felt that this was the right time to reintroduce OLED displays in our mobile products.”

The OLED displays are slimmer, consume less power and have infinite contrast (which makes them ideal for watching video content), and since LG is using Plastic OLED (POLED) panel, it was possible to flex the two side edges for Samsung Galaxy S8+ like curved sides.

LG V30 Design

Now that it is confirmed, the new LG V30 will have a 20 to 50 percent reduced upper and lower bezels. This will make the trademark LG branding, which is usually placed below the screen, to shift to the back of the phone. Also, the company is likely to ditch the extra ticker display used on earlier V-series phones like LG V10 and V20 and use a floating bar on the top instead.

LG V30 Specifications and Availability

Earlier reports suggest that LG V30 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and house a 3200mAh battery. The rear camera is expected to feature a dual-camera system, and the phone is expected to retail in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage variants.

The LG V30 will be launched in the US on August 31 and the pre-order will commence from September 17. Hopefully, the South-Korean manufacturer will divulge details regarding LG V30 India launch on August 31.
