Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus and K5 debuts at MWC 2016

Lenovo made its presence felt at the Mobile World Congress with the launch of its two new mid-range smartphones – Vibe K5 and Vibe K5 Plus. Both these devices are offered in platinum silver, champagne gold and graphite gray color options and are priced at $129 (Rs. 8,800 approx.) and $149 (Rs. 10,200 approx.) respectively. The Chinese smartphone maker has announced its availability from March 2016 onwards.

Both Vibe K5 and Vibe K5 Plus have a lot more common than just their name. Both these devices come with 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 16GB of storage with a microSD card slot and a 2,750 mAh removable battery. Both phones come with an identical camera optics. Lenovo has placed a 13-megapixel primary camera at the back of K5 series phones and for selfie addicts, it has added a 5MP sensor on the front.

Lenovo-K5-Plus

The Lenovo Vibe K5 hoists a 5-inch HD LCD display with 720×1280 pixels resolution and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 chipset assisted by Adreno 405 GPU. On the other hand, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 quad-core SoC with Adreno 405 GPU and flaunts a 5-inch IPS LCD full-HD display at the front.

In terms of connectivity options, both devices support dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and Micro-USB 2.0. The Lenovo Vibe K5 and Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus runs on Vibe Skin layered Android 5.1 Lollipop. For audiophiles, Lenovo has added dual front speakers with Dolby ATMOS support on both devices.
