Lenovo Miix 630 With ARM Technology

The biggest highlight of Miix 630 is its chipset – it employs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC. This makes the laptop Lenovo’s first and third overall, after HP’s ProBook x360 and Acer TravelMate Spin B1, to employ ARM architecture based chipset.

Basically, ARM processors are common in smartphones primarily because of their power efficiency. They follow a Reduced Instruction Set Computer (RISC) architecture to derive speedy action from less powerful hardware. Its most famous examples are Chromebooks. The chipsets strip out every unneeded instruction and optimize pathways, to provide outstanding performance at a fraction of the power demand.

Lenovo Miix 630 Windows 10 S OS

At the software front, the Lenovo Miix 630 runs on Microsoft’s lightweight OS, Windows 10 S. The OS is said to be faster than the Windows 10 Home or Pro, and Microsoft claims that it will be equally fast on the 1,000th day as on day one.

The major difference between Windows 10 S and Windows 10 is the formers inability to support third-party apps. The 10 S only supports apps downloaded and installed from Windows store that includes the games too.

This means it will miss out on the fair deal on popular apps like Apple’s iTunes, Google’s Chrome browser and the full versions of Adobe’s Acrobat, Photoshop and the rest of the Creative Suite.

The Windows 10 S is Microsoft’s answer to Google Chrome OS, which has grown rapidly with Chromebooks over the past couple of years. To regain the lost charm Microsoft is making its new OS to the lesser hardware configuration laptops.

Lenovo Miix 630 Specification

Lenovo is also including a Windows Hello-compatible camera on the Miix 630 allowing you to log into Windows 10 with your face. Lenovo provides a digital pen with Miix 630 that allows you to draw and edit with 1,024 levels of sensitivity.
