Chinese smartphone and content provider LeEco has showcased three new “Superphones” Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2 at an event in the capital city of China. These heirs of Le 1s, Le 1 Pro and Le Max flaunt unibody metal exterior and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Interestingly none of these newly launched smartphones feature 3.5mm audio port. These phones sport a USB Type-C Audio port along with CDLA (Continual Digital Loseless Audio) technology to deliver an unparalleled audio experience (reminds me of Oppo R5). All new entrants are running Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EUI 5.8 skin on top, just like they should be. Apart from these three smartphones, the company also presented a Virtual Reality headset which will be launched in May.

The LeMax 2 With 6GB RAM

The biggest of them all is the Le Max 2, however, it is still smaller than its predecessor Le Max which brazenly flaunted a massive 6.33-inch display. Le Max 2 bears a 5.7-inch large Quad HD bezel less display with 1440 x 2560 resolution and 515 ppi pixel density. At the heart it there is a Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 820 chipset combined with 6GB of RAM and Adreno 530 GPU.

Le-Max-2

For all those who are photography enthusiasts, it is equipped with a 21-megapixel IMX230 Sony sensor primary camera along with optical image stabilization, f/2.0 aperture and phase detection AF. It also features an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. The phone is backed by a 3100 mAh battery which also supports Qualcomm Quick Charging 3.0 technology. The Le Max 2 supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, and Micro-USB Type-C as connectivity options. LeEco has used Qualcomm’s latest ultrasonic fingerprint sensor technology to further improve its fingerprint sensor’s accuracy.

Le Max 2 Camera features

The pocket-friendly Le 2

The LeEco Le 2 is the most budget friendly device announced by company on the day. Just like its processor, it features a similar virtually bezel less 5.5-inch display with a pixel density of 403ppi. The phone is powered by a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 SoC ticking at 2.3GHz.To assist processor, the phone comes fitted with 3GB of RAM and Mali T880 MP4 GPU.

Le 2

For shutterbugs, the Le 2 comes with a 16MP rear shooter and an 8MP selfie cam with a large 1.4µm pixels sensor. Being a budget phone, it features a traditional fingerprint sensor. Armed with a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging support, it includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G LTE and VoLTE as connectivity options.

And an enhanced Pro variant

There is a Le 2 Pro variant which is identical to Le 2 on the outside and includes the same 5.5-inch full HD display. The major difference between the two is that the Pro variant is powered by MediaTek Helio X25 deca-core chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM.

Just like Le Max 2, the Le 2 Pro also sports a 21MP IMX230 sensor with phase detection AF, and an 8MP selfie cam on the front. The major difference between both cameras is that unlike Le Max 2, there is no optical image stabilization in Le 2 Pro.
