Kodak, mostly known for its historic role in photography, has launched its first ‘camera first smartphone’ in India. Named as Kodak EKTRA, the smartphone is being marketed as ‘the best-image quality and media management phone’ and will be on sale in India exclusively via the e-commerce platform, Flipkart.

Aimed for photography, Kodak EKTRA smartphone is loaded with 21MP fast-focus primary camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture combined with Manual, HDR, Landscape, Portrait, Macro, Sport, Night-time, Panorama, and Bokeh modes, and a Smart Auto mode which select the best conditions for your photographs. On the front, it has a 13MP front-facing camera with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and f2.2 aperture.
Phone’s hardware includes a 5-inch full HD (1080p) display, a Deca-Core MediaTek Helio X20 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. The smartphone will draw its juice from a 3,000mAh battery that’s favoured by MediaTek’s “Pump Express” quick charging support. On the software front, it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Priced at Rs 19,999, the Kodak EKTRA smartphone is expected to compete with phones like Samsung Galaxy On Max, Vivo V5s, and the Oppo F3 in India.
