Kia Carens SUV Launched in India; to Take on XUV700, Safari, Alcazar in India

Kia has pulled off the veil from its fourth car model in India – Kia Carens. The company held a launch event in New Delhi to globally introduce the Kia Carens. The all-new Carens SUV is presented as an RV (Recreational Vehicle) featuring a three-row design and six/seven seating space. The South-Korean car producer also reveals its plan of bringing eleven electric vehicles by 2026. 

Kia’s existing portfolio in India includes Seltos, Carnival, and Sonet. And now Carens will hit the road sometime in next year built with the company’s new design called ‘Opposites United’ built for Indian families. Let’s get into the details of the Kia Carens SUV.

Kia Carens Features

Following the ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, Kia Carens comes with a Tiger nose front grille, roof spoiler, sharp LED head, and tail lamps, and integrated LED daytime running lights for an enhancing visual appearance. The SUV-like car has six airbags as standard with security features electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and disc brakes.

Interior, the car has a wrap-around dashboard with a highly-gloss black panel. It offers ambient lighting with 64 colour combinations. It has a 10.25-inch HD infotainment display with touchscreen features and Bose Premium Sound System with 8 speakers. It comes with a sunroof and has many seat undertray for more storage space.

Kia Carens SUV will be offered with multiple engines and transmission options powered by both petrol and diesel engine. It comes with three drive modes of manual, six-speed automatic, and Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) options. It ships in three new colours – Imperial Blue, Moss Brown, and Sparkling Silver.

Kia Carens Price and Availability

The company has not revealed the price and availability details of the Kia Carens for the Indian market yet but it will certainly do so. Though, Kia Carens is all set to compete with Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and Mahindra XUV700 in the country that are already retailing somewhere around Rs 20 lakhs.
