Over the past couple of months, Reliance Jio has had a lot going on. First, the company raised the tariffs for its prepaid and postpaid customers. Most recently, it introduced the JioFiber Independence Day 2024 offer, waiving off the installation charges on the AirFiber. Now, the company has launched the JioBharat J1 4G feature phone. Priced at Rs. 1,799, the feature phone supports UPI payments via JioMoney, comes with a color screen, and also provides access to JioCinema OTT.

JioBharat J1 Features And Specifications
Out of the box, the JioBharat B1 features a 2.8-inch color screen. The handset’s dimensions are 13.5 x 5.6 x 1.6 cm and weighs 122 grams. With a bigger focus on usability, the Jio phone supports JioTV, which shows 455+ channels, including those that broadcast news, movies, sports, etc. Further, the phone comes with JioCinema pre-installed, an app that allows access to movies, TV shows, and live sports events.
Powering the feature phone is a 2,500 mAh battery. Users also get a 0.3MP rear camera, expandable storage of up to 128GB (via a microSD card), and an antenna-less FM radio. As mentioned earlier, the phone comes with a lot of Jio’s apps (such as JioSaavn, JioPay, JioChat, JioPhotos, etc.), supports 4G VoLTE for HD voice calling, and is preloaded with 23 Indian languages. Unfortunately, the JioBharat J1 is locked to Jio’s network, which means that users won’t be able to connect the phone to another network.

Using the feature phone, people can send and receive UPI payments via JioPay. The app lets users generate a QR code for their UPI ID and receive payments directly from the locked bank account. With the phone, Jio is also offering a Rs. 123 recharge plan that provides 14GB of data for 28 days, along with unlimited calls and texts. Available in Dark Gray color, the phone has a built-in LED torch.
JioBharat J1 Price
For now, the JioBharat J1 is available on Amazon for Rs. 1,799. Oddly, the phone isn’t available on Reliance Digital or JioMart’s website (at least not while compiling this report). For the price, the phone offers quite a lot of features that aren’t available on other feature phones in the segment, including the large screen, the ability to accept/send UPI payments, and access to Jio’s OTT platforms.
