Design and Display

Question: How is the itel PowerPro design?

Answer: Well, the itel PowerPro design is quite generic, but the handset maker does try to tick popular marketing boxes.

On the front, itel PowerPro includes three capacitive buttons at the bottom of the screen. Just above the display, there is an earpiece grill positioned between the camera hardware and the proximity sensor.

On the rear side, it has a brushed metal texture removable back panel (that is rather oblique at the edges) with plastic bands running on top and bottom. The camera is placed close to the top left corner alongside the LED flash. Speaker grill is present at the bottom.

A dedicated button is also present to help switch to the power saving mode. Interestingly, this isn’t a slider button, but a normal button that’s more convenient to use.

The item PowerPro lacks flair but still looks good. We don’t have much reason to complain at these prices.

Answer: Taking it price into consideration, it would say it performs better than expectation.  In day-to-day usage, I didn’t notice any sort of lag whatsoever. Apps opened and performed their function smoothly.

In terms of gaming performance, I will outright state that it’s not designed for gaming so expecting good gaming performance will be a foolish thing to do. While playing games there is clearly lag and frame drops too frequently.

Questions: How is Hios software in iTel PowerPro?

Answer: The PowerPro runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop which is skinned with Techno’s Hios. It comes with lots of bloatware apps and gesture tricks.

One of them is the Hi manager comes with a gimmicky ‘one touch mobile cleanup’ that hardly helps to boost the performance.
