Earlier this year, the Cupertino-based tech giant, Apple, revealed Vision Pro, the company’s first mixed-reality headset with exceptional features and a premium price. However, the product was only available in select regions, including the United States. Well, that could change sooner than we expected, as a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman predicts Vision Pro’s international debut in a few months.

Vision Pro Could Go International Post WWDC 2024

Apple WWDC 2024 schedule

Per the report, Apple could launch its mixed-reality headset in global markets shortly after its upcoming event, the Worldwide Developers Conference. Gurman mentions that the company has called hundreds of employees from its international stores to its headquarters for training sessions. If one recalls, this is the same thing the company did before revealing the device in the selected countries where it is available right now.

Apple Is Holding Training Sessions For International Employees

As part of the training session, select employees will get significant hands-on time with the device. They’ll learn about all the headset’s features and abilities and head back to their respective stores to train others about the product. The training sessions began last week and could last up to four days.

We should expect the company to provide a similar 20-minute demonstration in international stores as it did in local Apple stores. However, for now, whether users would have to book an appointment to try the device is unknown.

Potential Markets For The Company

Apple has invited employees from Germany, France, Australia, Japan, South Korea, China, and Singapore. However, the locations where the device could debut aren’t known yet. Earlier this year, Tim Cook, the chief executive officer at Apple, said that the Vision Pro could arrive in China in 2024. The product has yet to debut in markets like the United Kingdom, Canada, and India.

Due to sluggish sales in the United States, Apple is looking for more potential markets to launch the product. The limited number of apps (which restricts what one can do with the device) and the premium price tag seem to be slowing demand, so much so that the company has decreased its shipments forecast for the rest of the year by a significant margin.

Will Apple Launch Vision Pro In India This Year?

It is unlikely that Apple will release the $3,499 mixed-reality headset in India, primarily for two reasons. First, the market is still in the early stages of adopting virtual or mixed-reality products. Even though the market is expected to grow at a significantly higher rate soon, its price-sensitive nature might not be the ideal playground for Vision Pro to perform.

A few months ago, we also heard rumors about Apple working on a more affordable version of Vision Pro. Although the cheaper version may have fewer features, it could allow the company to foray into the mixed-reality space in countries like India. This particular version could arrive in 2025, but that is the extent of information available about it.
