iQOO 8 series will go official in China on August 17: Know its specs

iQOO 8 has been doing rounds for quite some time. Now, the company has officially confirmed the launch of the iQOO 8 series in China to be held on August 17 at 5:00 PM IST. The phone is also hinted to be powered by Snapdragon 888+ SoC and sport a 2K display.

The Chinese smartphone maker is expected to unveil two variants namely iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro. While iQOO has not disclosed much about the specs of the upcoming devices, rumor mills have a lot to say about. Let’s have a look.

iQOO 8 Expected Specs

The iQOO 8 is said to be equipped with the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset. The processor is likely to be paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB in-built storage. There have been some reports claiming that the iQOO 8 series would feature a QHD+ LTPO display with a resolution of 2K, a 120Hz refresh rate, and support 10-bit colors. 

The phone could ship with a 160W fast charger. In a render that appeared at the recent ChinaJoy event, we got a look at the device. It shows a curved display with a centered punch-hole while the major design is somewhat similar to the Indian variant of iQOO 7 (review). It may run on OriginOS 1.0 based on Android 11.

Though the scheduled event is limited to China, for now, iQOO is anticipated to bring the iQOO 8 series to India later this year. The last phone launched by the brand is the iQOO Z3 5G which is currently retailing at the starting price of INR 19,990.
