iQOO 15: Design

iQOO 15 Arrives With Snapdragon 8 Elit Gen 5, Bigger Battery, and Subtle Design Upgrades: Check Details Inside

The iQOO 15 retains the design of its predecessor with subtle changes it. For instance, the phone now has a brushed (instead of polished) aluminum mid-frame for keeping the fingerprint smudges away, a color-shifting rear-panel finish that changes hue depending on viewing angle, and a relatively flatter back panel.

The dimensions are largely the same, with minor changes that shouldn’t have a real-world impact on the usability of the smartphone.

  • iQOO 15: 163.7 x 76.8 x 8.1 mm
  • iQOO 13: 163.4 x 76.7 x 8 mm

In fact, the handset is heavier now, thanks to the bigger capacity battery: 215 or 220 grams vs. 207 or 213 grams. The back panel still retains the squircle camera module, along with rounded edges on the corners, and an otherwise flat profile.

In China, the phone is available in four colorways: Lingyun, Legendary Edition, Track Edition, and Wilderness.

iQOO 15: Specifications & Key Features

iQOO 15 Arrives With Snapdragon 8 Elit Gen 5, Bigger Battery, and Subtle Design Upgrades: Check Details Inside

Out of the box, the iQOO 15 ships with a 6.85-inch 2K+ curved Samsung M14 8T LTPO AMOLED screen with 3168 x 1440 pixels, a variable refresh rate of up to 144Hz, an HBM peak brightness of up to 2,600 nits, and a local peak brightness of up to 6,000 nits. Additional features include coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, 2,160Hz PWM dimming, and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision formats.

Under the hood, the smartphone runs on Qualcomm’s latest and greatest chipset: the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It features an octa-core CPU (4.6 GHz prime cores), Adreno 840 GPU, and the Hexagon NPU, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. We’ve already seen the chipset on handsets like the Xiaomi 17, and it will also powr the upcoming OnePlus 15.

What you won’t find on other smartphones powered by the same chipset is the company dedicated Q3 gaming chip, which offers 2K graphics quality, 2K+ 144 FPS concurrent playback, and native super-resolution and super-frame for seven different games. Moreover, the gaming chip enhances the chipset’s gaming performance, making the iQOO 15 an excellent device for professional or casual gamers.

The company has also included a 14,000 mm-square vapor chamber in the phone that helps in sustaining peak performance for an extended time. The flagship handset runs on Android 16-based OriginOS 6.0, which has already been announced for the global markets. Regarding optics, the iQOO 15 follows the footsteps of its predecessor, as it includes a 50MP triple-rear-facing camera setup.

  • Primary camera: 50MP (f/1.88, 1/1.56″, OIS) Sony IMX921 sensor
  • Secondary camera: 50MP (f/2.0, 150° field-of-view) ultrawide sensor
  • Tertiary camera: 50MP (f/2.65, 1/1.95″, OIS) Sony IMX882 sensor
  • Front camera: 32MP (f/2.2)

I’d say this is a usual camera setup for Chinese Android flagships, with only the ultrawide’s camera field-of-view offering an improvement. Other than that, the phone can still record 8K videos in 30 fps (though 4K video support remains limited to 60 fps), offers a new RGB LED strip around the camera module, and can zoom in digitally up to 100x.

Powering iQOO’s 2025-2026 flagship is a 7,000 mAh battery Si/C battery that supports 100W wired and 40W wireless charging (and improvement over its predecessor). The phone also supports smart bypass and reverse charging. However, it’s worth pointing out that the new age Android flagships, like the Pixel 10 and the Xiaomi 17 include wireless magnetic charging.

Connectivity features on the handset include 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth v6.0, dual-band GPS, and a USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1 port. Additional features include an IP68+IP69 dust and water resistance rating, in-display ultra-sonic fingerprint sensor, stero speakers, and an IR blaster.
