Intel accidentally leaks the specs of upcoming 13th Gen CPUs: Chipsets to come with expanded cores & higher clock speeds

0

Semi-conductor giant Intel accidentally leaked the details about its upcoming 13th Generation of CPUs via its Canadian website. Though the company took down the page in a few minutes, by then it was too late as internet archives never let anything go down completely.

Intel 13th Gen CPU Specs

The Intel Core i5-13600K will come with 14 cores and 20 threads while pushing up to 5.1GHz max frequency. The i7-13700K will come with 16 cores to 24 threads and 5.3GHz while the i9-13900K boasts of a solid 24 cores, 32 threads, and a 5.4GHz frequency. The i7 and i9 CPUs will come with Turbo Boost Max 3.0 or Thermal Velocity Boost, which will help push high GHz counts up to 5.8GHz.

The numbers that have been leaked by Intel fall in tandem with all the previous leaks that were being spread. The leaked slide on Igor’s LAB showed the 13th gen  CPUs to have scaled cores and threads compared to the 12th Gen. Intel promises to increase the L2 cache and L3 Intel Smart Cache on i5K processors and above.

The new chipsets will support CPU PCIe 5.0 interfaces up to 16 lanes and continue facilitating DDR5 and DDR4 RAM. In comparison to its predecessors, 13th gen CPUs will go up to DDR5-5600 RAM.

Apart from these upgrades, the other specs are expected to be the same as the 12th Generation processors. AMD is all set to compete with Intel as well as the company has announced its own Zen 4 CPU lineup that is expected to be available at the end of September. AMD claims that the 7000 series will boost clocks of over 5GHz to match Intel, as well as support for PCIe 5 and DDR5. However, price is something where Intel might have an edge over AMD. The highest Ryzen 9 7950X is expected to cost 699 dollars at launch which is almost 100 dollars higher than Intel’s i9-12900K.

The release window for Intel’s 13th Gen CPUs is still not clear, but we will get to hear solid information about the company’s plans on September 27th when the innovation event will take place. It is the same day when AMD is launching its Zen 4 Ryzen 7000 processors.
