This time, the mobile maker has roped in a little more than just basic features, which is a plus point for its new budget phone. However, the device could face tough competition from Xiaomi’s budget flagship product Redmi 5A. Both of these phones are available in two memory variants on online stores. In the display game between Smart 2 and Redmi 5A, the former is at a slight advantage for conforming to modern trends, You get a 5.45-inch Full View display, (720 x 1440) HD+ resolution, packaged in 18:9 aspect ratio. Both Smart 2 and Redmi 5A offer an eye protection mode to reduce eye strain.

Redmi 5A features a comparatively smaller IPS HD display of 5-inches with, now dated, 16:9 aspect ratio. Talking about design, the Redmi 5A has a visibly better finish.

Configuration options of 2GB RAM + 16GB storage and 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, (expandable with microSD) is available on both the mobiles.

The Infinix Smart 2 comes loaded with a 13MP rear camera, having Bokeh mode and Live Focus, along with a dual tone LED flashlight on its rear panel. An 8MP snapper having f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash with customizable flashlight intensity is present in the name of selfie camera aspects.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5A also features a primary camera having a similar 13MP, with f/2.2 aperture. The selfie camera is a 5MP camera with a f/2.0 aperture. The Redmi 5A has slightly better rear camera quality. As for selfies, performance is similar on both handsets.

Infinix will start selling Smart 2 exclusively via Flipkart from midnight of August 10 in four different color options of Bordeaux Red, Serene Gold, City Blue, and Sandstone Black.

On the contrary, the availability of Xiaomi’s Redmi 5A is not restricted to a single retailer and can be purchased from any major e-commerce platforms or offline store in India.

The price pattern is similar for both the devices with their 2GB RAM + 16GB storage configuration costing Rs.5,999, and the 3GB RAM + 32BG storage configuration priced at Rs.6,999.

Infinix has managed to involve some great specifications that help it stand out from the crowd. However, it still compromises on a lot of key fronts in lieu of its pocket friendliness. In a nutshell, the Infinix handset comes with a larger screen, Dual 4G VoLTE, dual LED front flash with superior front camera resolution, better core software, and a slightly larger battery. Yet, the Redmi 5A has an edge, thanks to the use of a better processor and better camera performance.
