Huawei held the global launch for its new range of flagships, P30 series, in Paris on March 26. Just as other P-series phones in the past, the P30s give precedence to the camera quality (and that sounds like an understatement). The head-turner is definitely the quad camera setup, which is touted as ‘most-advanced camera smartphones to date.’ So, we will be covering the cameras and the rest of the specs down here.

Huawei P30 Pro Highlights
Straight off the bat, let’s see what the camera department has to offer. The P30 Pro has a Leica Quad-camera setup at the back. This vertical panel includes a primary 40MP (f/1.6) SuperSpectrum sensor, 20MP (f/2.2) Ultra-wide angle lens, 8MP (f/3.4) 5X SuperZoom Lens, and finally a Time of Flight (ToF) camera for depth of field.
So, let’s unfurl what each of these lenses does. The 40MP SuperSpectrum sensor has an RYG pattern array instead of RGB filter which lets it capture 40 percent more light than its predecessor. This should ideally facilitate better night mode. It also has OIS stabilization.
The 8MP SuperZoom lens using the Periscope mechanism could be zoomed up to 5X times. Well, this alongside the digital zoom could be magnified up to 50X times. This one is also equipped with OIS for stability which is required at this zoomed in rate. Upfront you will get a 32MP selfie camera.

The device is capable of shooting shoot 4K videos at 60fps and has nifty additions like time-lapse, slow-mo, and a dual-view mode (Capture panorama on the right and a close-up on the left of the screen, simultaneously). Huawei shared the phone’s DXOmark score. It has received an overall score of 112, while in the videography performance, the score is 97 and 119 for photography.
Yeah, its all big numbers in the spec sheet. Internals boast the Huawei’s in-house Kirin 980 chipset, coupled with dual-NPU support. You also get an 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of onboard storage. Out of the box, the device packs a 4,200mAh battery that supports 40W super charge technology. Huawei offers wireless as well as the gimmicky reverse wireless charging support. For heat dissipation, Huawei P30 pro features a graphene film cooling system.
The device has an IP68-certified build, which sports a 6.47-inch Full HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) OLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display has a dewdrop notch up top and an In-display optical fingerprint sensor underneath. Huawei’s Acoustic technology is another highlight of this display which vibrates to produce sound. Unlock the device to use the EMUI 9.0 skinned Android 9.0 Pie software. This one comes with its own bells and whistles including the new Share OneHop for seamless file sharing between Huawei smartphones and PCs.
