When it comes to the display, they all offer an OLED Horizon Display with FHD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, DCI-P3 colors, HDR10+, punch holes, and embedded fingerprint scanner.

As for the chipset, the latest 5nm-based Kirin 9000 chipset promises about 25% better performance over last year’s Kirin 990. Huawei has also equipped the device with a built-in Balong 5G modem that is claimed to be the most powerful 5G processor in the world. Huawei boasts how Kirin 9000’s 15.3 billion transistor setup is 30% more than the Apple A14 Bionic. Even the Mali-G78 GPU with 24 cores is practically bleeding edge. The company thus vaunts the Hisilicon chip has a faster CPU, GPU, NPU, and better power efficiency than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865+ chipset.

Mate 40 Porsche RS Edition

On the software side, you have the Android 10-based EMUI 11 sans Google Services. Instead, it presents Huawei’s own Mobile Services — HMS, App Gallery, Petal Search Engine, Petal Navigation System, etc. The rest of the illustrious repertoire also comprises of actual stereo speakers (only on the pro models), Multi-screen Collaboration (like Microsoft’s Your Phone), M Pen 2 stylus support, Eyes on Display (EOD), Email conversations, smart multi-window mode, and hands-free Smart Gesture Control.
