How To Upgrade Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to Android Lollipop?

Android has been the juice of more than 80 % of the smartphones in the present day market. It has turned out to be the most successful and interactive operating system that the smartphones have ever had. The formerly latest version of Android, known as Android Kitkat v4.4, has recently got a whole new successor to it, the Android Lollipop v5.0. Well, for such smartphone enthusiasts there is some great news regarding their wait time being too close to get over.

Android 5.0 build has now been officially released by Samsung for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and thus it won’t void the warranty of the handset since it is not the beta version or the ROM version. Following are the steps to upgrade your Galaxy Note 3 to the latest Android Lollipop v5.0.

Create a backup of all the data present in your device and then use below mentioned steps.

  • Download Odin and also the Android 5.0 Firmware Package from here to your computer.
  • Now shut down your device. And put it into download mode by holding together the power button, the volume up key and the home (center button).
  • In Odin, enable Auto Rebootand Reset Time check boxes in Odin and also alternatively make sure that the Re-Partition checkbox is ticked.
  • After connecting your deice to the computer in Download Mode, you will see that ID:COM section will turn Blue which indicates that device drivers are successfully installed.
  • Click on “AP” to select the rooting tar file and then click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update. Post update, device will be rebooted automatically. It typically takes around a 5 – 6 minutes for whole process.
  • Navigate to the path “Settings > About Phone” to know the firmware version which is present in your device. The firmware version will be mentioned as Lollipop 5.0.
