How to setup Netflix Profile Lock Using New PIN Code Feature

Do you have a shared Netflix account with your friends or family and don’t want your friends, roommates or siblings messing up your Netflix recommendations? Well, the latest Netflix update fixes that for you.

Netflix recently rolled out parental controls where parents are allowed to decide the content that is safe for their children. Now, the video streaming giant has added PIN protection to prevent other users from messing up your Netflix recommendations. Let us help you prevent your profile by adding PIN code:

How To Set Up PIN Lock Your Netflix Profile?
To set up your Netflix Profile PIN, you will be required to login to your Netflix account on the official website. Once you have done that you will have to follow these steps:

  1. Go to Account options

    On the Netflix website, hover or click on the profile icon and it will expand the dropdown menu. Click on the ‘Account’ option.

  2. Profile & Parental Controls

    Once you go to your account it will list down all profiles & Parental Controls. Just click on the little arrow beside your profile name to expand the settings.

  3. Set Profile Lock

    Next, look for the Profile Lock option and tap on the ‘change’ option.

  4. Enter your Netflix account password

    To authenticate that you are the Netflix account owner, it will request you to enter current account password before you are allowed to create a PIN. So enter your Netflix account password.

  5. Create a PIN

    Now, add a four-digit number and hit the ‘Save’ button.
    Voila! your Netflix Profile is secured with a PIN.

  6. Enter Pin

    Next time onwards, you will have to enter your PIN to access your profile.

It is worth pointing out that it is not the same as two-factor authentication. Netflix account holder has the power to delete user profiles or disable the PIN.
