Google recently launched the Pixel 6a smartphone that is now up for sale in India. The company is all set to roll out the next generation of Android 13 later this year, but for now, the Beta update of Android 13 is available to test for Pixel users across India. Google Pixel 6a is now getting an Android 13 beta update that comes with a host of new features for the Pixel 6a.

If you have a Pixel 6a smartphone, you can head to the Android Beta Program website to register the device for beta testing. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to go about it.

Step 1-Visit the Android Beta Program Website (www.google.com/android/beta)

Step 2- Click on ‘View your eligible devices.

Step 3– The website will show Pixel 6a, click on the blue ‘Opt in’ button.

Step 4– Accept the terms and conditions. There will be 3 conditions- one for opting in to receive updates while still in beta, 2nd being I am a developer and would like to receive developer-focused email updates, and the third for agreeing to the terms.

Step 5– One can skip agreeing to the 2nd condition, but the other two have to be accepted.

Step 6– Click ‘Opt in’ once you are done. Now are registered with the Android 13 Beta program.

Step 7- Once this is done, Google will take a while to send an update over the air. You need to open settings, and then go to system update.

Step 8- Here, you will find a new Android 13 update. Click on ‘Install Update’ and you are done.

Your Google Pixel 6a will start downloading the Android 13 update. It will take a while so keep your smartphone charged while updating. Also back up all your data before installing the new update, because coming back to a stable version might wipe out all your data.

The Google Pixel 6a comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and is priced at Rs. 43,999 in India.
