Aarogya Setu, India’s COVID-19 contact tracing app, will now let you register for the vaccine. This is possible because of the latest integration between Aarogya Setu and the CoWIN (Covid Vaccine Intelligence Network) app. The latter essentially allows users to get vaccination certificates, information like vaccine drives, and detailed statistics. The integration of the Aarogya Setu app and the CoWIN vaccine was announced via Twitter.

COVID-19 Vaccination on Aarogya Setu App

Launched back in early 2020, the Aarogya Setu app is aimed at providing plenty of useful information helpful in tracing the COVID-19 spread.

Now, with the new update, you’ll see a new tab titled CoWIN on the front page of Aarogya Setu. Herein, you’ll find vaccination-related details and utilities.

CoWIN for those unversed is a vaccination initiative flagged off by the Indian government back on January 16, 2021. Thence began the first wave of vaccination drive covering health officials, frontline workers, and people above 50 years old.

Coming back to Aarogya Setu App, under the CoWIN tab, there are presently three options concerned with vaccination drive –

  • Vaccination Information
  • Vaccine Certificate
  • Vaccination Dashboard

The Vaccination Information page shows a series of three videos featuring Dr. Randeep Guleria, AIIMS Director. He is explaining questions about the safety, availability, and dose schedule of the vaccine. Users can also view and download a 13-page document file to get in-depth information on FAQs.

The Vaccination Certificate page requires an input of a 14-digit Beneficiary Reference ID from those who are already vaccinated. It also requires the registered mobile number of the user. Through this, one can download a vaccination certificate.

The option of the Vaccination Dashboard includes statistics and an overview of the COVID-19 vaccination drive around India. The page shows the count of vaccinated people from all states and union territories of the country. At the time of writing this article, a total of 73,95,423 Indian citizens have been vaccinated.

How to access COVID-19 national statistics

User can also view a detailed version of the stats filtered by various parameters following the below-mentioned process:

  • Click on the option ‘Click for detailed insights’ on the Vaccination dashboard page on the Aarogya Setu app.
  • The app will redirect to the CoWIN website.
  • Here, select your State and District.
  • Once you do that, the page will exhibit the detailed statistics

The displayed result will show a pie-chart representation of vaccination by gender, type of vaccine (Covaxin and Covishield), and beneficiaries vs vaccinated status. The page also displays vaccination numbers in the last 30 days.
