HyperOS comes with a lot of ads and bloatware apps pre-installed. While I believe that these shouldn’t be there in the first place, you can turn them off and uninstall the unnecessary apps. In this guide, we’ll show you how you can remove ads and bloatware on HyperOS. So, let’s get started.

Remove System Ads

First, let’s get rid of those pesky system ads. Follow these steps:

1. Open the Settings app.

2. Tap on Fingerprints, face data, and screen unlock.

3. Tap on Privacy and disable the toggle next to Enroll in User Experience Program.

4. Tap on Usage and diagnostics and turn it off.

5. Go back and tap on Ad services, then turn off the toggle next to Personalize ads.

6. Return to the previous menu and tap on Authorization and revocation.

7. Turn off the toggles next to msa and System Daemon. Wait for 10 seconds and then tap Revoke to confirm.

2. Disable App Drawer Ads

The app drawer is also filled with ads and recommendations, especially if you are using the in-app query mode. Here’s how to turn them off:

1. Open the app drawer.

2. Tap on the gear icon at the top right.

3. Turn off the toggles next to App suggestions and In-app query mode.

3. Uninstall Wallpaper Carousel

The Glance For Mi or Wallpaper Carousel app often shows ads and drains a lot of battery and consumes mobile data. Here’s how to get rid of it:

1. Open the Settings app.

2. Tap on Apps, then Manage apps.

3. Tap on the three dots at the top and select Show all apps.

4. Search for Wallpaper Carousel, tap on it, select Uninstall, and then tap OK.

4. Disable Security Scan Ads

The Security Scan feature can be overly cautious, scanning even Play Store apps. To disable it:

1. Open the Security app.

2. Tap on the gear icon at the top right.

3. Tap on Security scan and turn off the toggle next to Scan before installing.

5. Disable Notifications and Data for Theme Store and GetApps

Theme Store and GetApps are two of the apps that are filled with most ads and recommendations. Unfortunately, you can’t disable them but here’s what you can do minimize distractions:

1. Go to the App info of these apps.

2. Tap on Notifications and turn off the toggle next to Show notifications.

3. Tap on Connection method, turn off Mobile data, and tap OK.

6. Disable Ads in System Apps

Many system apps come with their own set of ads. To disable them:

1. Open each app and navigate to its Settings (usually, three dots > Settings).

2. Turn off Recommendations.

3. This includes apps like Music, Video, Themes, File Manager, ShareMe, Browser, Downloads, Security, AppLock, GameTurbo, WhatsApp Cleaner, and Recents.

4. If you don’t find the option, go to the Profile tab, tap on the gear icon, and turn off Ads (usually found in Privacy settings).

7. Uninstall Multiple Apps at Once

To quickly remove multiple bloatware apps:

1. Go to the Home Screen settings.

2. Switch to Classic mode.

3. Pinch in on your Home Screen, select the apps you want to uninstall, and tap on the Uninstall icon at the top.

4. Note that all apps might not be uninstalled.
