In India, Chromecast and Amazon Fire TV Stick are the most popular streaming dongles but neither of the two offers a complete experience. The Chromecast cannot be used to stream content on Prime Videos, and Fire Stick TV doesn’t have a proper YouTube app.
Amazon has a workaround for the problem. Fire Stick has a YouTube tile via which you can access YouTube via Browser. In fact, there is a way you can directly cast videos from YouTube app on your phone to your Fire Stick TV, just as you would on a Chromecast.
Casting directly from your phone is more convenient, as this way you don’t have to type using the Alexa remote. Here’s what you need to do.

How to directly cast YouTube Videos On Amazon Fire Stick 4k from your phone
Here is what you need to do.
Step 1: The first time you open YouTube, you will be prompted to choose between Firefox or Amazon’s Silk browser.
Step 2: To enable direct casting from the YouTube App on phone, you will have to download Amazon’s Silk browser. In case you have already installed Firefox, you can uninstall it or make Silk your default browser from settings.
Step 3: As you can see in the description for Silk browser, This is all you need on your Fire Stick to enable YouTube casting.
Step 4: Now open YouTube app on your phone, and you will notice the cast button if your Fire Stick and Phone are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Step 5: Now tap the cast button, and select your Fire Stick from the next menu.
That’s it, you are done.
Casting YouTube Videos on Fire Stick via Silk Browser
Casting Amazon Videos on Silk doesn’t work as smooth as on Chromecast, but it is certainly more convenient than playing YouTube videos using any other means, even by sideloading YouTube App. This indeed feels like combining the best of both worlds.
