It has been quite clear that smartphones have been aggressively pacing towards a bezel-less future since the last couple of years. And it looks like we are now very close to realizing this goal. The disruptive Honor View 20 in India, and the phone integrates more than a handful of innovative technological advances, including a clean all-screen fascia and a 48-megapixel selfie camera, for a very reasonable mid-range price.

Let’s talk about some unique and interesting Honor View 20 Features that make the phone stand out!

First In-display camera

The Honor View 20 is the world’s and India’s first phone to include the next generation full-view screen. The selfie camera resides in a small hole punched within the display panel (something that’s easier said than done) and you get an experience that’s more seamless than a notch.

The camera hole is just 4.5mm in diameter and does not impact the structure of the complex 18-layer screen. The resulting uninterrupted expanse of the high-quality 6.4-inch display simply looks awesome!

Another big plus point of the implementation is that you get to keep most of your status bar free. Even with tiny water-drop notches, a chunk of useable status bar space, including the area required for camera sensor and the symmetrical blank spaces on either side of the notch, is deducted. With the in-display camera placement, this penalty is minimized.

Stunning Design

The clean look on the front is further complemented by the stylish 3d-curved glass back panel. The Honor View 20 is the first phone to use nanolithography which imparts a gleaming V-shaped aurora pattern that’s visible with light falling at certain angles. The look is certainly befitting a phone truly positioned on the cutting edge.

Also, with most of the bezels shaved off, Honor has successfully packed a large screen in a relatively manageable and compact form factor, which makes handling View 20 extremely convenient.

Astonishing 48MP Rear Camera

The Honor View 20 is also the first phone to use Sony’s IMX586 stacked CMOS image sensor, which measures 1/2 – inch in size and has 48 effective megapixels, thus delivering astonishing details and clarity.

In low light, the camera software can smartly combine or bin 2×2 pixels to form a larger effective pixel to gather more light, resulting in detailed low light shots. The wide f/1.8 aperture lens helps too.

The primary 48 MP camera is assisted by a 3D TOF sensor that can map the surroundings using IR light. This helps the camera accurately differentiate the subject from the backdrop and shoot flawless portraits. The sensor also has other fun applications like 3D body shaping and 3D motion-controlled gaming. The camera software is also integrated with Smart AI algorithms that can detect ambient scene and even compensate for handshakes! Features like AI HDR further help deliver superb image quality.

Powered by World’s first 7nm Chipset

The Honor View 20 is powered by world’s first 7nm chipset, the Kirin 980, that’s an absolute beast. The Cortex-A76- based mobile platform brings in significant performance improvement and everything on the phone just flies by.

The chipset integrates the new Mali-G76 GPU which brings in 46% performance improvement, the new fourth-generation ISP with a dedicated video pipeline, and also is the world’s first to employ a dual-core NPU to handle AI smarts.

Naturally, the Honor View 20 can handle high-end gaming without breaking a sweat. Besides, it’s also equipped with GPU Turbo 2.0 that further optimizes mobile gaming experience.

Innovative Link Turbo

The Honor View 20 also tackles a very a common connectivity problem using an industry first innovation – Link turbo. This technology combines Wi-Fi and 4G for faster internet to ensure your downloads or streaming are not interrupted.

The View 20 can also identify a slow Wi-Fi network on its own and switches to a better network when available.

Big Battery and Rapid Supercharging

For a complete entertainment experience, your phone needs to have a reliable battery mileage. Well, that’s another area where the Honor View 20 excels. The handset has a massive 4000mAh power unit and you can quickly top it up with 20W supercharging tech that can top up 55 percent battery in just 30 minutes!

The Honor View 20 is thoroughly impressive!

The new Honor flagship has a lot that makes it unique. A seamless All-view display, a powerful chipset capable of satiating even the most demanding of users, a professional camera, AI-backed software, dual frequency GPS, long-lasting battery, and the list goes on. Suffice to say, it’s a truly innovative phone that sets the bar really high for 2019 flagships.
