Honor 50 Pro brings Google Services, SD778, and 100W charging

Honor, which is not a Huawei sub-brand anymore regains Google’s support for its phones. And the newly launched Honor 50 series sport GMS (Google Mobile Services) and Google apps. There are three phones in this batch namely Honor 50, Honor 50 Pro, and Honor 50 SE. The top-end model of the lot is the Honor 50 Pro which comes equipped with a 108MP triple camera setup, Snapdragon 778 chipset as well as whopping 100W fast charging support.

Honor 50 Pro features

Honor 50 Pro flaunts a 6.57-inch OLED display with QHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, and 10-bit color support. There’s also an under-display fingerprint scanner.

The internals includes a Snapdragon 778 5G chipset coupled with Adreno 642 GPU. It comes in multiple memory configurations up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. You can also increase the storage with the help of a microSD card.

Honor 50 series cameras

The rear camera setup is led by a 108MP HM2 camera sensor (f/1.8 aperture), followed by an 8MP ultra-wide camera (f/2.4 aperture), a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, meanwhile, there is a 32MP+12MP duo allowing both regular and wide-angle selfies.

On the other hand, Honor 50 Pro with 50MP ultravision Sony IMX700 RYYB 1.22μm sensor f/1.9 aperture. In addition, the phone also has 16MP ultra-wide camera f/2.2 aperture, 8MP periscope telescope telescope camera f/3.4 aperture.

Among other things, the phone also packs a 4,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging and 40W fast wireless charging support, Dual VC liquid cooling, High thermal conductivity graphene, Android 11-based Magic UI 3.1.0 (with GMS but no Play Store). The software situation might change in the global releases.

“Consumers will be able to experience Honor smartphones and tablets equipped with GMS,” the company declared.

Honor has released the phone in First snow crystal, Summer Amber, Ink Jade Green, and Bright Black colors.

Honor 50 Pro, Honor 50, and Honor 50 SE Price and availability

  • Honor 50 is introduced in 3 RAM and storage options. 8GB RAM and 128GB storage option have been launched in the market at a price of 2699 Yuan (approximately Rs 31,000). The larger 256GB storage variant is priced at Yuan 2999 (approximately Rs 34,000) and finally, the variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage gets priced at Yuan 3399 (approximately Rs 39,000).
  • Honor 50 Pro has been introduced by the company in 2 RAM and storage variants. The 8GB + 256GB variant at Yuan 3,699 (approximately Rs 42,300) and 12GB + 256GB variant at Yuan 3,399 (approximately Rs 45,600).
  • Honor 50 SE’s 8GB RAM and 256GB 8GB model is priced at Yuan 2399 (approximately Rs 27,000) and the 8GB RAM plus 256GB unit carries a price tag of Yuan 2699 (approximately Rs 30,000).

Honor 50 lineup will be up for prebooking in China on June 25th and will be launching in global markets at a later date. Indian availability is not known at the moment.
